We took some time off. Yep, you heard right, travelling can be pretty exhausting ;)
And we found two absolutely amazing spots on the Greek island of Peloponnes. The first one was the town of Nafplio and its surrounding beaches. The second one took us all the way south to the island of Elafonisos.
NAFPLIO
This cute little town off the shores of east Peloponnes used to be the capital of Greece, definitely surprising but well earned.
Nafplio was one of the loveliest places we have seen. The amount of incredibly cute shops and bars, all within such a relatively tiny space. It is well worth a visit. You might want to come late autumn though when most tourists are gone and the water is still perfectly warm. Honestly, beginning of November has been treating us very kindly and to us it feels like late summer!
ELAFONISOS
This was the first time for us and our little Van to take a boat trip :)
The island was recommended to us by a friendly guy that owns an embroidery in Athens. And what a good recommendation it was!
He said Elafonisos has the most beautiful beaches in the whole of Greece and he was absolutely right.
We had to make sure whether we accidentally went to the Caribbeans or not…
Turquoise blue water, crystal clear, fish swimming around and hardly any people.
The ferry costs €1 per person and €18 for a camper one way.
On the boat to the island we already met a couple, Ute & Wolf from Germany. We spent the entire time there cooking and eating together. They have already spent so much time overseas in their early years, especially South East Asia, it was so much fun to listen to them.
Another couple from Spain, Maitane & Sergio, are currently travelling to Japan with their little daughter and the dog. Japan because he is wanting to complete a karate course there. So many interesting people on this planet. It really makes us so happy to travel and meet people that carry the same desire within them.
